- BuddySOS and Life360 both share your location with people you trust. The difference: BuddySOS doesn't sell your location data, and you control when sharing is on. Sessions can end when your trip ends. No permanent tracking unless you want it. Free on iOS and Android.
- How does the SOS button work?
- One tap sends an alert to everyone in your group along with your current location. The alert goes to the people you added to your group, not to BuddySOS or any third party. Use it when you can't explain what's wrong: at a festival, on a trail, in a crowded venue.
- Is BuddySOS free?
- Yes. The core app (live map, one-tap SOS, group invites, shared meetup pins) is free with a small ad. Remove ads for $1.99 a month. No tiers. No upsells. No premium-only features.
- Does BuddySOS sell my location data?
- No. Your location is shared with the people you add to your group and no one else. We don't sell it to data brokers, advertisers, or anyone else. The business model is the $1.99 ad-removal subscription, and that's it.
- Who can see my location?
- The people in the active group you choose. You decide who joins, when the session starts, and when it ends. Groups can run for a weekend, or for years. End any session and your location stops sharing immediately.
- How do I get my friends to use BuddySOS?
- Add anyone to your group. If they don't have BuddySOS, they get a text with a direct download link, so the friend who shows up at the gate without the app installed gets it in one tap. Group invites work across iOS and Android.
