How does the BuddySOS one-tap SOS button work?

One-tap SOS sends an alert to your active group the instant you press it, with your live GPS location attached. Every person in that group gets a push notification with a one-tap deep link straight into the live map, so they can start moving toward you without typing anything.

Press SOS and a push notification reaches every member of your active group, whether or not their app is open. Each notification deep-links into the live map centered on your position, so they skip the home screen and start walking. Your location keeps broadcasting in the background after your screen locks.

That last part carries the feature. SOS exists for the moments you cannot look at your phone again: a medical event, an altercation, a crowd closing over you. You never type a message or pick a contact. You press one button.

Push can fail without telling anyone. When a group member has notifications switched off or denied permission, the app checks for an active SOS the next time they open it, which turns a blocked push into a late alert rather than no alert at all.

SOS stays inside your active group. It reaches nobody outside that group and goes nowhere public. Reaching someone who never installed BuddySOS, the parent or partner who refuses another app, is a separate feature: SOS text escalation sends the same location over SMS.
