Safe Zones

Draw a safe zone on the map and get alerted the moment someone enters or leaves. A group-based alternative to Life360 Places, with a 100m minimum radius.

Does BuddySOS have safe zones like Life360 Places?

Safe zones are geofenced circles you draw on the map that trigger a push alert to your group the moment someone enters or leaves. Draw one around a house, a school, or a festival entrance, and there is no manual check-in required: the alert fires automatically in both directions.

Place a zone two ways: draw the circle on the map with your finger, or type an address and drop it there. Every zone starts at a 100 meter minimum radius. Anything tighter and ordinary GPS drift would fire the alert while your kid sits on the sofa.

Once the zone exists, BuddySOS notifies the whole group the moment someone crosses the boundary in either direction. Nobody taps anything. The person walking through the zone does not have to remember to tell you they arrived, which is the entire point.

Life360 calls this Places and it works the same way. The difference sits in the pricing: your first zone per group costs nothing, and zones two through five unlock either by subscribing or by watching a rewarded video. A group that never pays can still add zones.

Where it earns its place: a kid arriving at school, a crew member reaching the meeting point at a festival, someone leaving home at 2am. You get the answer to "did they get there" without sending the text asking.

Zones belong to their group and nobody else sees them. Zone data is never sold, and BuddySOS keeps no record of past entries and exits once the alert has fired.
